What is Boudoir Photography?

What do you think when you see an advertisement for Boudoir? Before I was educated on the subject, I thought it was all nudity and sex. I was wrong.

Boudoir doesn't have to be nudity and lingerie, it can be a pretty dress, a robe, pajamas, your partners shirt, a cozy sweater etc. The point of the session is to capture the sensual side of an individual. A sexy smile does far more for appeal that a naked bum. It can also be a form of storytelling. The photographs can capture an individual at a specific place in time and celebrate how far they’ve come and where they're going.

For many men and women, letting their guard down and being captured at that moment can be an act of body liberation.
